Steam quick launch

So ever since reinstalling steam, every time i pin steam to my task bar, its a white piece of paper and when i click on it it comes up with an error of the path then says something along the lines of rechecking the path then try again. how do i fix this? when i search steam through windows the icons look normal.. its just whenever i open steam on the taskbar is a white paper, and then when i pin it to taskbar aswell.
