Steam User Interface issue.

Whenever I launch steam, it launches a steam program that is nothing but a black box and the usual store interface. However, the store interface is completely ransacked of its normal appearance. Valerie is on the left side, the text looks as if it was raw code from a computing class (just hyperlinks that are underlined), and it's not much of an issue, I just want it to be fixed.
