Is there anyway to hide demos in the store? Or otherwise filter them out?
Any idea how to do this if it's possible?

If you scroll down to "type", you can select "games". That will stop DLC and demos from showing up. I don't think you can prevent free games from showing up with that search, though. There are more filters in the advanced search, such as filtering out free games (which helps get rid of the prologue-style demos). To get to the advanced search, you can just hit enter in the search field. It's ugly but sometimes more useful.
