How to tell steam my steam games are in specific folder and not in h:\steamlibrary
Ive been having trouble with my pc the past couple hours, my external ssd disconnected and now steam thinks the location for the its games are in SteamLibrary on the root of my drive, the H drive in this case so H:\SteamLibrary. but i already have a tonne of games in H:\Games\Steam or H:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common .

how can i tell steam this? I tried removing the drive via the storage settings. i deleted the SteamLibrary folder then added the drive back but it just created the folder again.

Remove that default library folder for your H: drive.

Then when you go add your own H: drive folder, don't choose the H: drive. Scroll down and select "Let me choose another location" and then a Windows file explorer window will appear to allow you to browse to your H: drive folder.

Make sure to select H:\Games\Steam and not the \steamapps\ or \common\ folders contained within it.

You can use this infographic I made to help. The interface has changed a little since I made it, but the overall process is still the same.
