If you meant your friend gifted you a game via steam, and you bought a game key from a site you haven't redeem yet, to refund gifted game, you have to visit your help section, select the games option, search for the game, and there should be option to refund, tick the box to approve the refund, then all your friend has to do is issue a refund request on it manually.
Second, in this case the seller would need to ask for the refund which is unlikely in your scenario.
And third, the refund money would go to the person who send the gift, not to you.
You spend your money on a third party website which means you cant refund at all, you can only refund games you bought directly on the Steam Store.
