What system are you referring to, and when you looked up their support section what did they say?
Your Steam password will never expire.
More plausible, you thought you were inputting it correctly, if you were you'd have logged in. And if not you'd be denied. Changing your password and inputting the new password correctly doesn't prove the old password expired. It just supports you were mistyping the old password.
Again, Steam does not expire passwords.
Your password manager had the wrong password, either because you added the wrong one before, or because it was changed since.
