How do I delete a nickname of a former friend?

I gave my ex-girlfriend a nickname when we were still friends on Steam. We´re no friends anymore but the nickname is still there. I want to delete it but dont want to send her a new friend request.

Usually it wouldßnt be a problem for me but steam is for some reason constantly updating me on comments people write on her profile.... even if I block her.

Can someone help?

Go to change nickname then press the X and it will reset the nickname once you press confirm you also could turn on append nicknames in friends & chat so it will be there just be barely visible and next to her name.

You can only do this for friends.

if their comments arent private, just uncheck the box at the top and you should be unsubscribed

wont change the nickname but it should stop the notifications

The problem solved itself. Suddenly the nickname was gone. It took steam like 3 years for it to just disappear.
