Reestablishing a account under review guidance
Hello. I just created an account to reach out to support on behalf of a friend of the family who I purchased a game for and his account is now under review, and will permanently be closed if my bank does not correct and update the validated charge. The Steam account is not a fault. I have capital one with some comprimises and I had accidentally disputed the Valve charge,not reconizing it as STeAm which is so confusing for an almost year old, non gamer. Please help me to restore his long-term account relationship, he has had is since middle school and the connection with his fellow gamers is missed dearly. Can someone from the account investigations reach out to me. My bank has reached out to update his account should be in good standing and the charge stands, the gamer did no wrong. Thank you!!

If you purchased a game for a friend and you disputed that charge, then it should be your account that is flagged. What you describe sounds like you bought the game while using your friend's account. That, in itself, is a violation of the SSA and the act of buying the game with your card on their account constituents fraud. If you had simply gifted them a game, at worst the friend would just lose the game.

Sounds like the system is working as intended.

Also, you shouldn't need to open a new account just to contact Support. You already have an account with which to contact Support. So does your friend.

Again, it sounds like everything is working the way it should.
