Help: Games crashing immediately after launch
So heres my issue:

I have a few games that close immediately after I launch them;

Smite and Phasmophobia are a couple of them

Like I'll launch them, they'lll show the logos of the respective game and then just close.
Now when I used -nosteam, smite got to the log in screen and i was able to bypass it and work fine after logging in.

I have done so many things to try to fix this, but it seems after the recent steam update I cant play certain games.

I've updated all my drivers, restarted my modem, my pc, reinstalled steam, verified cache, verified integrity of game, ran as administrator, ran steam as administrator, made sure to allow throw firewall, tested my antivirus, etc.

Like everything that comes up with a google search I've tried.

I just need to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue?

Now JUST TO CLARIFY: only some of the games. Its not a multiplayer issue because im able to launch other games that have online multiplayer and such.

Try disabling Steam Overlay.

Have you also do the other way remove all setting and untick compabilities on steam.exe
most smith user dont do anything at all to get it to work ,ask smith own user group, could be a good way to get help. or ask game support. thre players there most know if there is any client issue with the game. ( its seen on older games , but i will not call smith a older game, its still be seen as newer title compared with other to 20 years old single payer game that done and game devs move on. (MP games do get update all the time ) they get content update. im sure you know this.

And you are sure its not own anti virus app that block game from working ?
try whiltelist stem.exe and game own .exe name

Other things you might want to check up on.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
SFC /Scannow

google them cmd , dont have other issue at pc.

same as with check disk on harddisk.

Still think it odd you do -nosteam, but if game work like that so be it.

ask game support, might be the only way to debug and info on it, unless you want windows log viewer and hope it can tell you something. why game crash

What internet security/antivirus software are you using?
Do you have multiple monitors? (Smite is notorious for crashing with more than one.)
What is your GPU?

If you are using a dedicated graphics card and your motherboard also has an integrated GPU, then is the monitor cable plugged into the correct (dedicated GPU) socket?

You'd be surprised how common it is for the last situation to cause problems like this, so it's worth asking when information is limited.

Solution:

My windows security was blocking my games from using their config files since it was in a protected folder. Allowing access has fixed my games closing out.

Thank you everyone for helping.
