Check steam for client updates - cannot purchase games

Not sure how to do that or what that means exactly ... Working off steam app via ROG ALLY

Navigate to the top left corner of the Steam client, select Steam, select Check for Steam Client update from the drop down menu and look towards the bottom of the client. It should load up a blue bar with 2 options on the right, Download and Later. Select Download. Then, select Apply and restart Steam.

Then, do what you initially wanted to do in the store.

Report back if you are still having issues.

Steam has a Steam menu in its client, that you should have installed and have running.

I'm having the same issue. I can't buy a game. And idk what the steam client is. I don't know jack about computers. It worked with the first game I bought.
The only steam client thing I see is a beta participation option. I tried that. What am I doing wrong?

Same here. Seems to be only specific games. I've bought a game since Aug 1. I can't buy potery simulator because of this error.
