You have a lot of F2P games in your library. The F2P games don't count, unless you purchase content from them. But yeah, only games that you have purchased or gifted, etc that cost money will help you earn the badge.

the f2p games, do they count in the badge if i have gotten a in game item drop? because ihave only bought 4 games total, and the only f2p game i have spent money in is dota 2

it doesn't matter what you bought on a F2P game, as long as you purchased it with money it will count as 1 game owned.

Games you buy from Steam, keys you redeem from bundles and online stores, all count.

Some F2P games appear to count as long as you purchase items from them, it seems to vary a bit. But just getting an item in game doesn't make it count.

then why does it say i have 9 games owned, yet the only f2p game ive spent money in is dota 2, and i have only purchased 4 games with money

Sometimes it's a bit odd. Like today Defiance counted at game number 978 for me. But I think there was a bug in the Defiance license, being counted as a paid game and earning trading cards this morning, even though it was free.

Some F2P games do count. It seems like only the more recent ones do, the ones that stay in your library after you uninstall.

I added a few free games recently (Aura Kingdom, Only If, and Sunrider) and they all increased my number of games even before playing any of them. :batsilo: I checked my badge too, and they gave exp.

Well what do you want? Me to list every single possible outcome of every single free to play game that might have a in store purchase system that lets it count toward the game collector badge or might be bugged like Defiance that let's it count?

Bottom line:
Free 2 Play games don't count toward your badge, so loading your account up on every Free 2 Play game on Steam isn't the way to get a higher badge count.

With the small exception that apparently some games do occasionally count under certain circumstances or bugged conditions.

Your personal game count is at 9, but your library (public at least) shows something like 24 games. You only have 4 that are not Free 2 Play, so that means that you have 15 Free 2 Play games and apparently 5 of them (33%) count for one reason or another.
