How to use the XBox One controller wirelessly?

According to Microsoft, at http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controller-pc-compatibility , the XBox One controller should work wirelessly on Windows. But I can't make my Windows detect the controller. It works fine when connected using a USB cable. But I didn't buy it to play on cable =/

Do you have any ideas or 3rd party tools to make it work without the cable on my PC? (In the future I'd like to see it working on Linux as well... but let's take it one step at a time).

Or if you have a bluetooth equiped PC/Laptop/Tablet you can do option which is buy a PS4 controller get the DS4Tool and give Microsucks the middle finger for being proprietary wireless bastards! (We happened to purchase a PS4 last fall at the begging request of a family member and I will be validating this process with the spare controller on my Asus Transformer Tablet soon)

So far so good, I have all the tools installed and running well. Last step is pairing the controller and deciding what games to play around in. There are at least 2 different and current offshoots of DS4Tools with good reviews. From all that I read the most reliable and least troublesome is the one I am currently using DS4Windows[ds4windows.com].

P.S. The most common issues with any of the tools relate directly to issues with the computer's bluetooth adapter. Make sure you google solutions for bluetooth issues related to your adapter before assuming a connection issue is application related. Example my bluetooth mouse had performance issues and kept getting disconnected, I googled and found a simple fix of changing one setting in my wifi/bluetooth combo device driver to completely solve the problem. (FYI this has fixed any and all issues I've ever had with my bluetooth devices on my tablet)

it took me some searching which eventually brought me to a source. I don't read much on news some most of you probably know this but for those who don't: the dongle for windows 10 is now available on amazon for $24.99 PRE-ORDER!.... it wont be released till December 31st. here is my source:
