How to use the XBox One controller wirelessly?

According to Microsoft, at http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controller-pc-compatibility , the XBox One controller should work wirelessly on Windows. But I can't make my Windows detect the controller. It works fine when connected using a USB cable. But I didn't buy it to play on cable =/

Do you have any ideas or 3rd party tools to make it work without the cable on my PC? (In the future I'd like to see it working on Linux as well... but let's take it one step at a time).

No, i don't, as there is never a reason to smash something just because you are frustrated. You clearly have anger management issues.

i bougth the play and charge bundle, the cable is not a problem, i just want it wireless :A

Well I stay with my XBOX 360 controllers
with a wireless dongle I might consider to buy this "new" xbox controller....

I guess those devices like the Titan one and Chronusmax are working on getting the xbox one wireless controllers to register on a pc. On the Chronusmax website they say they are working on it, and on the Titan one website I couldn't find any info. Does anyone have any experience with trying to get it to work on either one? Thanks.

On the bright side, you don't need batteries for the wired mode, and you have wireless + wired in one device. Just gotta wait for XBone-compatible wireless receivers to hit the market. Sadly the 360 receiver doesn't work with XBone controllers.

So much for Microsoft's repeated claims that it has recommitted to PC gaming. Support from Microsoft is actually getting worse. I can't wait until Valve releases its own controller and I can finally get rid of my old wireless X360 controllers.

If Microsoft had released a wireless XB1 controller for PC at launch I would have almost certainly bought one. Now I refuse out of principle.

Thanks for the link! Let's wait and see... I really would like to play it without any adapters, but that's better than wired.
