turtlebeach px3 wireless headset prevents steam and games from working
As the title states....when headset transmitter is plugged into usb on pc steam will not start. steamerrorreport.exe pops up in task-manager then nothing. I unplug headset and it loads up. I did this repeatedly to test and the same happens each time. Once headset is unplugged and steam is up and running I plug headset back in and start a game. Game does not launch. I unplug headset and launch game and it works perfectly. I plug headset in during game and game crashes. Game plays perfectly with headset not plugged in. Any Ideas.

Plug it in and then set the Headset as Default for its Speakers and Mic under Windows Playerback/Recording.

Then launch Steam

Headset is already set as default for both speakers and mic. Thanks for reply.
I forgot to add that this is on win xp.

Uninstall whatever software came with the headset.

there was no software installed. the pc recognized the device once i plugged it into the usb. thanks for the reply. please keep ideas coming.

in-game: just closes it out as soon as i plug usb back in.
