How long does it take for a debit card payment to process?
So I'm new to Steam and just made my first store purchase for FFXIV using my debit card. It's been about an hour already and it's STILL pending. It's already shown up as pending on my bank account, too. Usually stuff just goes through instantly with my debit card, even if shown as pending on my bank account, so what's the deal with steam? Does it usually take until it goes through with the actual bank before it's done pending..? Because that takes a few days, yet it's not a problem anywhere else because the payment goes through in seconds.

Usually it takes one second. If you want to ask someone why it's taking so long, talk to your bank.

Oh, really? Then why has it been an hour and it's STILL pending? Meh, screw it, just gonna cancel the payment and go get it at another site where it doesn't take 5 FLIPPING DAYS for a debit card payment to go through. Hope I get a refund~

If you cancel the payment with your bank, your Steam account is gonna get locked because it looks like a card fraud.

Kinda late, but really it can take a few minutes to a few days. I used my Visa Debit card, but since I didn't enter my pin number, it'll take a few days to process it(I purchased the game August 13th, and according to my bank, it's supposed to be finished processing by August 18th). It's perfectly normal, just remember to have the right amount of money in there for a few days until it's finished processing.

Steam just needs to speed up, I know there's a crap ton of users purchasing games this way, but damn.

There is literally nothing Steam can do to speed up a debit purchase. Blame your banks terrible network.

just add cash to steam wallet from your debit card and you're good. although you still need to wait 7-15 days to access steam community market (new mode of payment, verification of source of funds)

Well according to my bank and numerous other sources, it pretty much depends on the merchandise seller, although I did choose the visa option, if that's any change in the matter.

Oh, I didn't know you could add funds to your Steam Wallet with a Debit Card, thought it only worked with Steam Wallet cards.

That's your banks way of saying they don't wanna deal with you.

Or that it's the actual way it works since it does take longer when you don't use Debit, since the seller has to process it all and make sure it isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but I'll take your word for it.

I can recommend PayPal. I use it all the time and don't have any delays.

I mayt try that, and I just figured out that it doesn't really take that long, the 13th through the 18th was just the time frame for when Steam will process it, not how long it takes, my bad.
