Steam overlay - Missing Cursor
I recently reformated my laptop and now when I play CS:GO while I shift-tab out to the steam overlay my mouse cursor is missing. Can anyone suggest something that would fix this issue? I've tried re-installing steam yet the problem still was there. I just checked a few other games and the same issue occurs. Anyone have a fix for this?

My Specs;

i7-4940MX @ 4.5ghz
Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M
32GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
512GB mSATA SSD Boot + 1TB 5400 rpm
Windows 8.1

Not the same issue, but when I disconnect from a ranked game, sometimes when I try to reconnect - my mouse is missing. Also couldn't find fix for it. Restarting the game helps tho.

Thanks for the replay Tomek, I've had that issue with CS:GO too. This seems to be with all steam games and mainly around the steam overlay. It only happens when I shift + tab out of a game.

Thanks man, I have just had the same problem, it has enabled somehow, disabling it solved it.
Hey thanks buddy; I had the same problem; Looked all over reddit and steam forums; Simple fix. Mouse settings and turn of pointer trails in windows mouse settings!

Just want to add that for me when this happened with DOOM, I had to uncheck the setting "Hide pointer while typing".

Outstanding. Fixed the issue for me in Counter-strike: Condition Zero and CS1.6.

I typed up some detailed instructions here, for anyone who needs them.

If you typically use the "inverted" color scheme for your cursor, I've found that switching to the standard white cursor sometimes fixes it not displaying properly. Kind of annoying, but I haven't found a better solution for me yet.
