Forums partecipants: are they Valve's subsidiaries' employees?
Do some of the users who write in these forums work for
companies / satellite companies / subsidiaries companies / external agents / contractors commissioned by Valve to do it?

In an extended meaning: commissioned by any organization/institution of any type.

No. The regulars do not work for Valve, however you may find most regulars are in fact fans of Valve and the Steam platform, otherwise why would they even be here? They will be very likely to speak positively about Steam and Valve.

The ones who are regulars but only have negative things to say about the platform they use and frequent are the suspect ones. If they despise Steam and Valve so much, why do they spend so much time here, posting so much FUD and negativity?

I do know of at least one company trying to "compete" with Steam who has employed paid "influencers" in the past, and probably the present. This came to light during court discovery in a lawsuit between this company and Apple. https://i.imgur.com/yJW2emd.png

Are those paid influencers in the Steam forums? Maybe, maybe not. A few were posting negativity against Valve and positivity about the other company like it was their job, but they seem to come and go.

I'm just here because I'm bored at work... Being a regular has nothing to do with working for valve or any other company.

Had no doubt about this. Imagine being paid for these kind of replies...
Anyway, thanks for all your precious and detailed answers :steamfacepalm:
All I got is:
Regulars, no.
Casuals, neither.
Jesters, maybe :laughing_yeti:

Thanks, I consider this severe. I see how these paid services can be done in a boycott way, as they can be done also as a incentiving way: Valve favouring. It could be never confirmed, but also disconfirmed, unless third party public organizations get in the way to certify legitimity of the participants.

What I'm wondering about, is the rush of regular users to come here to say, with certainty:
"No, all other users are not paid", as they have hands on all their papers. Mind, not that I expected a positive answer, but even a flat negative answer has no reason to be given by so called regulars. These users are considerable sextons: unreliable. Whatever they say, it is not confirmable but believable by trust and faith. Which I have not.

Valve didn't play its part good, when it removed the moderators/ badge, nor it gave the opportunity to know which of the users "are close" to the offices. Even if some users are not paid, it is evident that they are in a position of advantage with some of this company closed infos. it is unlikely how this figures disappeared, and were not replaced in any way.

These users, paid, contracted, or not, do currently have preferential ways to know and speak about Valve. And their presence should be explicited.
