Are steam servers not working in Indian region?

So I have been having some problems with installing or updating any game or apps on steam since the past few days. Either the installation doesn't happen at all and gets stuck at that "downloading" phase or it just throws a "connection timed out" error. I followed all the troubleshooting steps on their website yet nothing works. I cleared out download cache, changed regions and even reinstalled steam which only worsened the situation because now most of my games are gone and they have to be reinstalled. For some reason, the only way I was able to finish a small update of a game was when I turned on my VPN, which is a concerning discovery for me. I heard that steam servers were undergoing maintenance a couple of days ago. Is it happening because of that? Is anyone else from around the Indian region facing the same issues? Are the steam servers in India down or something? I would appreciate any kind of feedback or help.



Edit: For some reason, steam is now working properly and my apps and games are installing. I don't even know what changed. I just changed the download region to china for the umpteenth time and after a PC restart...it worked even though I did these steps hundreds of times for the past few days. Anyways, I wish a good day to all of you who replied and let's just hope we never face any kind of serious issues with steam again and have a smooth gaming experience.


Edit 2: Well....I spoke too soon because after couple of hours when one of my downloads was ongoing, that issue started to happen again and the download stopped and it threw a "connection timed out" error.....

Ask own ISP, only they know if all india region is up again sfter flooding , or is this to old informstioon now, dont forget fiber connection on long distance dont just fix themself, it can take years to rebuild in some region, or maybe they was lucky and not got destroyed by it, im sure they know better down there then us in the rest of the world.and just because you have diffrent path now traffic re-routed by ISP dont mean other fiber has been fixed, this is complicated and its not that simple.

i know for fact make new lines do take many years to get appovale and team could work on them, but the emergency repair and temporay network fixes is a diffrent matter.

It says that steam connection managers in India are "N/A", does that mean the steam servers are actually not working around Indian regions?

Guya help! I'm unable to purchase any game. I've trying this since the beginning of summer Sale and it will be over tomorrow, sadly it looks I won't be playing Skyrim anytime soon
