got a refund on wingamestore

Hello I recently bought a preorder of sf6 on wingamestore (which is to my understanding a third party seller and not a key reseller). And I decided one day before the release to get the upgrade to the deluxe version, as wingamestore states on their site the have a refund policy for pre orders when you ask before the release. So I got the refund and bought the upgrade instead.
But I already activated the refunded key on my steam account and am playing the game right now.

So my question is: Will my first key get deactivated somehow or did they just made a mistake and now I have an extra game?

Technically wingamestore would have to tell the developer that the key was refunded and needs to be revoked. They in turn would have to notify Steam to revoked the key. All three parties would have to communicate that revocation to one another.

It is a possibility.

If you have the deluxe version key, hold off on activating it until you get some kind of confirmation that the base version has been revoked. If you claim the deluxe version key while the base version is still active on your account, it will only add the deluxe upgrade to your account. You won't have a second copy of the game. Then when they come to revoke the base key, you could end up with just a deluxe upgrade for a game you no longer own.

Thx for your answer and yeah thats kind of what I thought. I think I'll wait a bit and if in a few weeks I still have my first key activated I'll just give the second one to a friend that would anyway have bought the game so if my key gets revoked they'll pay me instead.

According to their website they are an authorized reseller so what makes you think they aren't? I mean they could be lying but is there evidence they are?

Wingamestore is perfectly legit.

The original key will be revoked eventually when WinGameStore has a chance to pass the details of refunded keys on to the publisher.

They do it in batches so it might not be for a month, but it will happen.

yeah what i meant by 3rd party is that they're legit like humblebundle, just that they are not steam or capcom

if you'd be afraid, you can try to go to the support page of the game, click you want to remove the game from your account

it says it will be removed forever but its not, you can put the game back anytime if you go back to the same help page

That's useless, publisher will eventually revoke the key anyways.
