Exclude tags from search

I know I can exclude tags at the store level (at least that's what I've read) but what about just from a search?

As an example, I'd currently like to search for turn based rpg games but I'm not in the mood for jrpg's. I'd rather not exclude jrpg from the store and then forget to un-exclude it. I know. Not a word. Relax. :) Next time I go looking for a game I might be in the mood for a jrpg.

So. Am I missing something right under my nose? How do I exclude tags from a particular search?

Search flags aside from owned and ignored games don't save beyond the current search.

Thanks for the response but that's not really what I'm asking. I'll try to be more clear.

I can include multiple flags when I do a search. As an example I can search for...

rpg AND turn-based AND strategy

What I would like to do is search for...

rpg AND turn-based AND strategy AND NOT jrpg

Is there a way to do NOT?

Edit: I'm also uncertain if Steam is doing AND or OR. Anyone know without me having to figure out how to test it? LOL

You can include tags and also exclude others at the same time...

To the left of the tag is a + to include and to the right is a - to exclude.

It took Valve years to add the exclusion flag. Trust me, you aren't the only one that didn't realize it and you won't be the last.

You can use this site for finding similar steam games - you can search with tags included and excluded.
