Games lagging while moving mouse
Whenever I move my mouse in any game/fullscreen application, the framerate drops to an unplayable level. The problem came out of nowhere all of a sudden. Things I have tried:
  • Reinstalling mouse drivers, graphics drivers, chipset drivers, windows10/11 clean install of both.
  • Not a hardware problem(mouse or motherboard or the ports). Changed mouse (logitech g304/ razer viper mini wired) to no avail. A workaround I discovered (mentioned below) which doesn't include changing any hardware.
  • Closed any/all applications which might monitor mouse movements or might interfere in any possible way.

Possible workarounds
The method which has removed the lag in-game is by pressing any button on the mouse while moving but even that is not consistent across games. Currently I have assigned a macro which toggles pressing the mouse sidebutton for that purpose.
I have extensively searched for people having similar problems but taking all of that into account, no one has been able to pin point the root cause of the problem. The best solution I could find was to reduce the polling rate of the mouse from 1000 to 500 or lower but even doing this has not completely mitigated the problem for me.

I am experiencing this problem on my laptop. It is MSI bravo ADDR4, ryzen5 4600h, rx 5500m. Please feel free to ask for any further details. Any help on this is much appreciated.

I mean it depends on the games and application. That lag most likely has nothing to do with the mouse but the system requirements and your GPU.

This is the laptop, right? https://www.msi.com/Laptop/Bravo-15-A4DDR/Specification

Yep that is the one. I have experienced it in all of the applications/games so far. Even in windows explorer, quickly moving mouse through a list of files in a folder, the framedrops/lag is visible. Again, I have never experienced this before so I highly doubt it has anything to do with the system requirements or the gpu. The hardware is quite new and I see no reason for it to not be able to handle the application or windows requirements
