Can valve recover 2 week deleted artwork?
I remember deleting an old steam artwork, 2 weeks ago. Is it possible for valve to retrieve it, or for them to recover it through their server cache? Sadly, I reset my pc, so I cannot look into my own web, steam app cache. Can steam retrieve a file that's been deleted for 2 weeks?
I know, I'm dumb.

Try this
go to your Artwork folder, rightclick an empty space >properties>previous versions.

Have you checked the recycle bin?

I wouldn't expect so. Customer Support won't have the ability to look through whatever systems might still have a copy (if any do) and going through the hierarchy of server admins to hunt down one graphic isn't realistic.

It may not be absolutely technically impossible, but for any practical discussion, forget it.

If data is important to you proper backups are your answer moving forward.

Still you could make a customer support ticket and maybe, despite all odds, and everyone's pessimism you could get lucky. But you're never winning the lottery if you use your luck up on this...

My guess is, (After more research.) when artwork is deleted, they probably cache it for a day, since when you delete artwork, the steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net url & image is only valid for 24 hr, then says 404 Not Found, after 24hrs. I guess my best bet is to try and find it again.

Thx for the comments, you two.

You also need to remember that they can't really store other peoples work like that without permission and if a person deletes it then they are no longer granted access to have it on their servers as a lot of artwork can be copyright protected.

True. But, If they did store it after deletion, they'd have to declare it in the privacy policy, right?

It takes about a month for it to finally be off the CDNs servers after it is deleted.
