i can hear myself coming through my headphones when in discord
when my Bluetooth headphones are connected and I'm not in discord they're normal.

But when i join a discord call they go into a kind of transparency mode where i can hear everything outside being played through them.

I've looked around and i cant find any solution that actually work for me.

I'm using Sennheiser LE-HD 450BT if that helps

You might want to check that apps own self output test ( you push to talk to cut loop away ), and make sure speaker dont get recorded while you talk like a double loop ( just like the old days with phones and radio that ppl did ) i mention that because most know that old radio broadcast issue. )

to high sensitivity can make loop sounds to even resonate sound and it get worse over time.

thanks for the response but thats not what i meant, i meant that the headphones interanally was deciding to go onto the transparency mode.

but i found a solution myself, you need to go to control panel > sound > recording, then disable the headphones

I'm aware of the super-necro here but this is so far the only discussion that matches my issue. My only problem with your solution is that while disabling the headphones stops the loop, it also means that my mic cannot be used.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
