How do I fix my Steam Overlay?
For some reason, the resolution of my steam overlay stays as 720p, instead of my computer's resolution: 1080p. Like, the overlay is too big and does not match my computer's resolution. I already tried looking for something in the settings to try and fix this but I couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Test on other pc to ruleout its not the main pc that is the issue.

Due to technical limitations the Steam overlay always runs on the same resolution as the game itself. It doesn't make sense that it's allegedly running at 720p.

How did you verify that? Could it be simply be a scaling issue?

I verified by noticing how bigger it got randomly.
Like, the steam overlay used to be at the right resolution and scale of my computer resolution - 1080p. Then one day, I open steam and go play apex legends, and notice how bigger it looks. I did not change anything or do anything. That's how I verified.

I don't know if its a scaling issue or not - All the games I play are on the same resolution of my computer, so this is honestly kinda weird.

YES, i have been having the same issue, it was all working fine until one of the steam updates in july or august. then i noticed the fps counter was a lot bigger and fuzzier, i thought it was just arkhamn knight bugging out with the overlay but even a small indie game was doing the same, both were at 1080p
Same. Haven't had time to play for a while & now the FPS counter & overlay popup window are huge, fuzzy, and the proportions of the font are stretched vertically.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
