"Steamwebhelper is not responding"
Starting today when I try to open Steam, it only runs in background processes and won't actually open. When I click the Steam icon in the system tray it says that Steamwebhelper is not responding - I've tried disabling my antivirus, adding the whole Steam folder as an exception, restarting steamwebhelper.exe, deleting steamwebhelper.exe and reloading Steam, and restarting Steam with GPU Acceleration disabled. The *only* thing that works is restarting steam with browser sandboxing disabled, at which point steam and all my games load as normal.

As soon as I close Steam however, the same issue applies, and I have to click on the icon in the system tray to restart with browser sandboxing disabled. I can't for the life of me figure out what's gone wrong and I really don't want to uninstall steam if I can help it (I can't even find Steam in the apps to uninstall). Does anyone know of a fix?

Clear steams web browser data, do not have a 8gb pc if steam webhealper use 1gb ram then some game might be a issue., and that the problem we have no clue if you have normal or better pc then you might have other issue.

Dont get count is dism repaire issue or SFC, or not have a update pc.

and have spare pc to ruleout own pc issue can be a good way to test steam actual work.

This. I have exact same problem, however for me none of the options work. So I can't even open the steam whatsoever. I already contacted steam support and still can't find the fix.

it was seen as bitdefender can also block steamwebhelper.exe under last update a few month ago could you have same issue now with same antivius app or diffrent maybe ?

you need to make exception rule.

Yes, I already tried adding exclusion in windows security. Restarting PC, turning off PC, deleting steamwebhelper.exe, reinstalling steam twice, checking the firewall, troubleshooting in clean boot (without 3rd party services), disabling/enabling network adapter, getting latest display driver update, getting latest windows update, none of these work.

This is just weird since the problem occurred only few hours after I played a steam game, and then I couldn't even open the steam at all. I can play non-steam game perfectly fine.

I still don't want to lose hope. I wish this can be resolved soon.

I DID IT! I finally fixed it!

I went to C:\Users\User\AppData, there are 3 folders: Local, LocalLow, and Roaming.
So, I checked those folders one by one and searched for folder named Steam and then I deleted them. Then I tried to open Steam, and VOILLA! It's magic! My steam finally open!

I was so desperate and thought about piracy, but Thank God the solution is that simple.

Damn I wish I saw this earlier, I ended up reinstalling Windows as a last resort and that worked as well, haha. It's still annoying that there's no clear reason why this happened, and why Steam Support can't do anything about it as well. Hopefully it never happens again!

yeah and we need someone to test steam flush cmd also, before the folder wipe solutions.

and as you said it, what cause this in the first place.

if wipe data dont work and antivirus app white list or make exception rules, there is nothing left.

then ask stam support, because you have something aient working or you did not do it right or other things cause issue with steamwebhelper.

"Steamwebhelper is not responding" this also mean you load it and it crashed.
this is why wipe data is a issue , there is nothing left, only steam know what that app do and where its data is.

feel free to rename current steam to steam.old and start over and see if that can fix it,
and you have the data to put in + game folder and icon AND OTHER USER DATA KEPT INSIDE STEAM, AND WHY YOU DONT UNINSTALL STEAM, This is know today have backup of own old steam folder.

Capital letter is made so. ( even seen some game devs save game user data store there. )

Try windows event viewer, and hope windows has a crash log why steamwebhelp.exe has crashed,

Try flip flop in and out of beta.

ask steam support even, because there is nothing left other then reinstall steam over current

and other things like that, dont have system issue .

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
SFC /Scannow

google them cmd.

ps.
Can you reclick them steam service in bin folder to see if that help.

Check windows firewall rule for in and out rules for steam. some mention missing out rules, but no one else have mention lost rules. 2 over 2-3 month or something like that.

out of ideas , other then read steam.log
