Can't browse to game backup from "Restore Game Backup" option.
As the title says. I am unable to locate my game backup. Clicking the browse button doesn't work for some reason. After pressing the "browse" no matter how long I wait or how many times I click, it wont bring up the locate thingy from where I am supposed to go to the game directory and install the game here! :(

Thanks in advance!

Can someone help me?
xarvn 27 AGO 2023 a las 2:32
  1. Go to Settings>In Game>"Delete Web Browser Data" and click "Delete."
  2. Exit completely out of Steam.
  3. Right-click on your desktop and create a new shortcut. Click browse and navigate to "...Steam\bin\steamservice.exe." Add " /repair" to the target so that it reads "...Steam\steamservice.exe /repair". If you have Steam installed in the default location then it should be:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\steamservice.exe /repair
  4. Double click the shortcut, and when prompted, allow steamservice.exe to modify computer.
  5. Wait for the operation to finish.

It's not working. I open it but a black window opens and nothing comes up except a flashing underscore. Then it closes and i go back to check if my peoblem has solved but no difference.

The blank window with the blinking underscore is steamservice.exe performing the repair operation. It will disappear once it is finished. If you have closed the window before completion then try running it again.

Next try to change the setting for "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views." Then restart Steam from complete exit (i.e. from Steam>Exit).

Sorry, did not mean to accuse you of closing the window. I forgot to mention that "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" is in Settings>Interface.

I enabled that! Also did everything hopefully correctly as per your instruction! Here's the target of the shortcut "G:\Steam\bin\steamservice.exe /repair" My steam is installed in G drive

Lets try something just for diagnostic purposes. Go to Settings>Storage and then click the "+" symbol at the top right as if you were trying to add another Steam Library. Does it bring up Windows File Explorer?

Try exiting Steam and then restart Steam as Administrator.

Okay. Just to be sure there is nothing wrong with Windows, try running DISM and SFC. If you are not familiar the procedure is follows:
  1. Open Windows Powershell or Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type: "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" (without quotes). Wait for process to complete.
  3. Type: sfc /scannow. Wait.
If after running the above, corrupt files were detected and replaced, but if that has not solved the problem then I would next check your Antivirus logs to see if it was blocking Steam or its processes.
