SImon the sourcerer 25th: simon.exe missing
I just installed steam for the first time. I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon v21.2 (Its an ubuntu variant). Steam installs Simon the sourcerer 25th Anniversary under the folder debian-installation. I get an error "Executable missing" and simon.exe really does not exist. Tried to install the game again withsame result. Bad start for me with steam. :( I was able to play X line.

Did you tell Steam to run the game with Proton?

Steam menu->Settings
Select the Compatibility tab from the left side.
Turn on both Enable Steam Play for supported tiles and Enable Steam Play for all other titles.
Select the Proton version in Run other titles with.

You may need to restart your Client to take effect.

simon.exe missing -> install the legacy dlc in your language

after that you run into the next problem. then read this answer
