Steam client keeps opening on second monitor?
Every time I turn my PC on and open the steam client it opens on my second monitor. Games are fine and open on my primary.
Tried opening and closing it on my primary. Works, but when I turn my PC off and on again it opens on my second monitor.
Tried going into big screen mode and selecting primary monitor.

Can't seem to figure this out and its driving me nuts. Anyone have a solution?

Try snapping windows to the primary monitor, Win11 remembers position of closed windows.

Thanks for the response I tried that a few times after you suggested it. Works until I turn the PC on and off then it opens on the second monitor again.

1.Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
2.Scroll down to Multiple displays and click on it.
3.Under Multiple displays, select Extend these displays.
4.Drag and drop the monitor icons to match your physical setup.
5.Click on Identify to see which monitor is which.
6.Click on Apply and then OK.
(Hope this helps)

Thanks for the response. I tried this after you suggested it but still no luck. Every time I turn the PC Off and On again it reverts to the other monitor. I have my main monitor set as primary No 1. All of my other apps and games open on this monitor except Steam client.

I have 3 monitors, and one of them is not even on when the PC boots (It's a samsung 32 tv) and steam opens on either monitor randomly when I boot the PC up. Sometimes it is on my main, other times it is on my 2nd vertical or other times on my tv. It's just annoying. I assume it has something to do with how the PC and graphics card are booting, running their internal scripts and what ever monitor it finds first on boot gets it? idk... good luck to everyone else as well!

Did you ever find a solution to this..? Steam continually opens on my secondary monitor even with the primary identified as primary and the only one on.

Thanks

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
