activation code not working

I own a game with no additional DLC

I noticed today the game was on sale on Newegg with all the DLC included so I purchased the activation key

When I try to use the key on Steam it says you already own this game .. and fails to install with all the DLC with no apparent way to get past

How can I get past this issue ?

I suppose if there was a way to remove a game from my library I might be able to add again ?

But not sure that is possible either ?

A search on "remove game" on Steam shows 0 results ? No even sure how that's possible ?

ok seems like the Steam search is not working .. even a search on the keyword "remove" nets no results .. I guess I'll wait until this is fixed .. Ugh

Helps if you say what game, link to what you bought etc.

Sometimes the DLC will be a separate key and you would have multiple keys to redeem.

You cannot remove a game from your library to add it again. If the key your redeeming contains extra items you don't have then those items will be activated automatically.

In other words if there is only one key and Steam is telling you you already have everything in it then I'm sorry to say you are yet another victim of the long running scams of selling base game/single DLC while pretending its a full package.

I only own the base .. but wanted to add all the DLC

Thought I could by buying the Galaxy Edition (even though I already have the base game)
But Steam will not let me apply the activation code

But there doesn't appear to be a way to contact Steam ? All support links dump to the search for help page .. no email ? no chat ? no phone ?
Searching provides no help

Is there a way to actually contact Steam Support ? I have looked and searched everywhere

Steam Support here will tell you to contact the support where you purchased the key.

So Newegg are trying to give you the run around and stop you from demanding your money back.

Ignore them telling you to pester Steam and saying its a Steam issue they are the ones responsible for selling you a key that wasn't what they advertised and they are the ones that have to fix it by either giving you a genuine or or giving you your money back.

It's sold by a known site for screwing up and not selling the right keys, so no surprise you got ripped off.....

Actually looking at the product and what the galaxy edition even includes....

The galaxy edition does NOT include the DLC. It includes the following

Stellaris Galaxy Edition includes:
DIGITAL ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
EXCLUSIVE ALIEN RACE (COSMETIC DLC)
DIGITAL COLLECTOR'S BOOK
STELLARIS INFINITE FRONTIER NOVEL BY STEVEN SAVILE (ebook)
EXCLUSIVE AVATAR AND GALAXY FORUM ICON
SIGNED WALLPAPER

So in actuallity its correct, you already own the game and its not going to redeem any of the DLC as its not part of what you bought.

Well you can always give that code to a friend at least. It would still work if they tried to redeem it.
