Is it on an external drive?
No it's not on an external drive.
I haven't had any problems with it until yesterday morning.
It has been known to cause issues with the client.
(Lenovo Legion 5 on Windows 11)
it was like a protocoll was cut off then you sleep and then your pc was wake up again things look like ity was connected, laptop user can try repaire connect they know this issue from roming hotspot, and so can desktop pc, they just dont think orhave learn such this is well know by laptop user that change hotspot.
and i dont recall if there was a solution on it. other then ofc fix or reboot pc ( cold boot ) if you dont know what im talking about im sure other will help you.
pc.
just so you know steam is not resposible for your pc sleepmode issue. ( its seen as you cut the connection, what prevent you from exit steam, then sleep mode, you can ask steam for exit steam then idle option, maybe they will do that but now its a suggestion issue and require steam devs to make code for it, and who said they will do this or can get it to work )
this can get consequence what if you are in a game and walk away from it afk, now steam crash your games, there is alot of issue with this. this might not be as simple as it sounds.
( the consequence off this require MS to tell steam app to exit then enter sleep mode or shut it down, if MS think this is a steam problem then let them deal with steam. )
feel free to ask steam support if they can make it so, only steam devs support can know if this is as simple as it sounds other DL issue and keep alive issue with this is seen before.
almost look like same old tech issue with modem disconnect or trigger way with hang-up, but im not so so this is the way to do it.
Onlu you that use it can make steam ticket about it, i doubt steam support even read here same goes with MS thats use and made it way back.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
I've tried reinstalling Steam, killing processes/subprocesses, clearing Steam cache, running as administrator, turning off run-at-startup, scan tools, verifying file integrity, turning off overclocking, anti-virus, etc. etc.
I have Windows 11. If I kill the processes/subprocesses, it shows the updating prompt but then doesn't launch the application GUI after that.
