Steam Keeps Asking For An Update When I Already Installed It.

Recently, Steam has been asking me for the "March 15, 2023" update, with the problem being that it keeps for it when I already hit the update button. It's been going on for the past few days and I have no idea how to fix it.

I'm having exactly the same issue. I've had to update to the exact same March 15th update 3 times now. There were different patch notes once, so I thought "oh good they fixed the cycle," but just had March 15th update again.

I have done it once a day since March 15th.
Only today, I finally decided "wtf is Valve doing?" and paid attention to the Update date.
I'm semi-glad I'm not the only one.

The date is wrong. The re-releases were done to patch other things.

Delete your web cache in the settings and restart Steam.

Okay, so how do I clear my web cache for steam, and will clearing the web cache affect anything in my library?

My theory is they're just doing it because of the sale, since it opens my library up after the fake "update" maybe I'll see something shiny and buy it.

Imagine being Hotsauce and saying "The date is wrong" when it's the same update that literally says "March 15th" and is the latest one that he earlier claimed was doing it because they're re-releases, yet Valve hasn't updated the blog in the days following.

The banner says March 15th, but Steam reports a Build Date of March 20th after installing the 4rd iteration of this update. No way I could have a March 20th build unless they've re-released it after March 15th.

That was still there since the 18th. They hadn't changed the blog since then.

That was my entire point.

Especially the fact I noted earlier, it happened again last night, and pushed twice within 10 minutes for something that's supposedly a singular update.

Maybe next time Valve should cut it with these mini re-releases and actually start logging them as separate patches like they've been doing for the Deck and VR. Otherwise, they're failing at doing this properly.

Do you want the cloud sync issue to persist or not? I know a few users who do not want the issue to persist.
