Also to add, support can see all trades, chat history, and etc that was done on the account if you give them any made up story they know because they have access to everything you did on Steam, hence why can't lie to them whom you trade with, what you said, and so on if all of it was recorded via Steam. Now it's likely they might not kept the data anymore for things over certain period of time, example like EU GDPR, which basically means this put you in a bad spot if support can't review old things for your case, which make it even more worse for you to lifting the ban, so any story you give, may just be consider as nothing to them as they have no way to confirm anything you claim if data removed, again in this case it been nearly 10 years since you been trade banned.
OP read guide for point 3 to 3.2 that for trade ban, that only thing that applies to you.
You admitted scamming others. Trade ban applied correctly.
Yes, I'm blunt but that's because there is no point in giving you false hope.
I take full responsibility for my mistake of making lowball offers in Counter-Strike GO trades. However, I want to make it clear that I never actually scammed anyone. I simply wrote messages within trade offers that could be seen as suspicious. While I accept the punishment for the attempt, I have never scammed anyone.
I agree with the opinion that the trade ban has been applied correctly, but I believe the severity of the penalty is extreme given the context of my actions.
I am aware that it may be difficult to lift the ban after almost a decade, and that Steam support has access to all trades and chat history. I previously made a ticket shortly after the ban was applied, but was unsuccessful in arguing my case.
Thank you for the advice and guidance provided by the community members. I will consider making a support ticket using the link provided by Maria. I understand that Steam support may not have access to old data due to data retention policies, but I am willing to provide any evidence or information that may support my case.
Thank you again for your responses.
Even the attempt at scamming is punishable. Spamming lowball offers looking for fools to accept them is exactly what scammers do.
Support have on record everything and this is retained just like how every piece of data from day one on your account is also. You admitted to scamming essentially so I'm not sure what information or evidence you can provide for any consideration of another fruitless appeal.
I want to emphasize that my lowball offers were extremely exaggerated and should have been obviously received as a joke. I do not believe that my actions were malicious or intended to scam others. With that being said, I have opened a new support ticket in which I hope that my trade history will be reviewed by a support member.
Except.
Extremely lowball offers + accept trade and choose item from account x. = scam.
Support disagreed hence the severe penalty.
