Steam Doesn't Allow Me to Recover My Account Even With Proof of Ownership
Guys, please help me.

I'm at a loss here.

I got my phone reset and the Steam app became broken, so the Steam Mobile Guard Authenticator was dead.

Because I set the Mobile Guard a long time ago, there wasn't a Recover Code with it.

I opened several tickets with Steam to recover my account but they just wouldn't let me, albeit I have provided multiple proofs of ownership to them, but they just do not recognize them as me at all.

It's incredibly frustrating dealing with Steam at this point. It's my account, I know how many hours I've put into the account and the games.

Long-story short, I tried multiple ways to provide proofs of ownership to them:

  1. My Alipay account transaction, and the transactions on Steam related to Alipay.
  2. I even checked with my phone carrier and I couldn't receive text messages from Steam has nothing to do with my end.
  3. I showed and the Steam Wallet codes I purchased from a seller on Taobao and even the chat history as well.
  4. I also showed them my bank account/bank card personal information, my legal name and my billing addresses and got constantly denied.
  5. I tried to talk to them with logic that if I'm a hacker, there's no way I can obtain so much private information from multiple accounts at once.
  6. They asked for WebMoney account purchase, I don't have it. I made one many years ago when I was traveling in Russia, and WebMoney has completely removed my account due to idleness.
  7. They asked for Yandex account purchase, same stuff, I used once years ago and now Yandex has removed that account's history as well (Yandex Money has become YooMoney)
  8. I showed them my email purchase history from Steam, there were many Steam purchase emails sent to my email account, I not only showed them my previous Mobile Guard codes, my purchase history with multiple Steam games. And it still got denied.
  9. And the last one, Proof of Ownership is actually admitted by Digital Activation Codes. This reminds me that I purchased Grand Theft Auto IV Complete Edition from Amazon in 2014, and they're in digital code forms, and I activated them on Steam as well. I got all the codes, date & history, order pages from Amazon, emails I received from the time, and it's still not seen as enough proof of ownership. (They say this doesn't match. Like WTF??? WTF??? If your system has cleared out data from years ago, and removed records of my code activations, it's not my problem! It's your problem!)

At this point I believe Steam is mocking me for trying to take back my account. The reason they gave out is also incredibly absurd as well, codes from 2014 are not matched with the system??? But the Steam wallet codes I purchased match.

None of this is my problem it seems. I've provided codes that I used and activated in 2014, and all the previous evidence were real and true evidence for my account. But Steam just doesn't give a fkkk that I'm trying to get back my account and they don't care. It took a complete 30 days to go back and forth with these people and nothing has come to fruition. It's been incredibly frustrating of an experience with Steam support and Steam in general.

And they keep pressing me for account purchase history from Yandex, which doesn't even fkkkkkng exist anymore.

My phone number works just fine, but can't receive text message, this isn't a problem from my end! This is a problem from Steam's end! I can receive text messages from Twitter, Apple, and it seems that my phone number matches with the profile on record.

So WHY THE FKKK Steam wouldn't let me take my account back ffs!!!

All of my support documents, you can check them out, I posted the major ones here. [drive.google.com]

If a game was registered to the account using a digitally issued activation code, please provide the following with your Support Ticket:
Attach a screenshot of the account page or email in which you received the code. The code that was activated to the account must be visible in the screenshot.

Please create or update your existing Steam Support ticket with this information.

Proof of Ownership is established by submitting payment information previously used on the account or providing retail product codes that have been activated through Steam.

Please select a purchase method used on the account from the list below for detailed instructions on providing Proof of Ownership.

Guys please help me! I've tried everything, I don't know what else I can do anymore. That's my account.

This is my profile page. I literally played 300+ hours MGSV TPP, it's my favorite game. And I made full achievements.

So they asked for two proofs, Webmoney and Yandex, that you can't provide? I can imagine that looks sketchy to the support staff.

Have you provided the oldest proofs available for your account? I hope they're not those you can't provide.

Read the post guys, please.

Yandex and Webmoney due to long-time idleness it's dead. They removed the accounts, I even sent emails to them.

Do you want to see my email history?

And not just webmoney and yandex, alipay as well. I have all provided my proof and they don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ accept it.

I did actually, Amazon 2014 key codes bought straight from Amazon. They ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ denied it. Even with email and amazon order history, it's all in my google link, check them out.

When you made the auth app active, it asked you to write down a code.
You forgot that this happened. So maybe you just forgot that you wrote it down. Find it.
Phone number OR backup codes are another way to remove auth from the account.

I registered the mobile guard years ago... It just didn't have a recovery code for it. The recovery code is probably a recent implementation.

Either way, I didn't have it. I got phone number but for some reasons it doesn't work. Steam doesn't send to my phone. Read the post.

It's a technical issue from Steam end, not mine.

The r-code was there from day one. So you probably wrote it down when it asked you to do it, before you could proceed.

Also if you created backup codes, you can use them to remove auth too.

You could create backup codes, to login without app.

Backup codes need to be created when you have access to the account. I can't log in right now without mobile guard generated code.

When you are logged in. Unfortunately.
But the app had a timer, that went off while telling you to write down the R-code. Maybe you wrote it down. Because why should you have not, while watching the timer?

You allways for any 2fa, make sure you have failproof ways of recover from losing the device with 2fa on.

R-code, backup codes, phone number. All possible ways.

For normal 2fa its usually backup codes, and the setup code. Never use qr scan to set up 2fa.
You can have your phone number on more than one account. You could test if you get the sms for setting up the number on a new account.
So you would know if it works. Because it worked when you set up the guard back then. Maybe the number you have now is different?
