Antimalware service executable
When running Windows 10 there was a chanchlge made to Anti-malware service executable. It can use up to 100% of your CPU anytime it wants unless you turn it off. If you have updated lately and you noticed PC slowdown this may be you problem. Open you task manager and see if that little bugger is active you will see it jump from 5% and I have seen 100% of CPU especially from PCs with HDD.

There are many fixes posted you can search for. You need to either disable it or set a schedule for when it runs. Hope this helps a few people out there.

That's the built-in windows defender. Unless you KNOW what you are doing you better do NOT turn it off and let it continue/finish the scan.

Recent updates allow it to run constantly. Anything you do will be scanned setting up a schedule for when it runs is logical. No it is not necessary to run all the time.
