Steam Big Picture Low FPS
For a long time I had Low FPS when using the new steam big picture, but after fumbling around for a few weeks, I finally solved my problem.

If you have downloaded the Riot Client, and have Riot vanguard active on your computer, I would recommend uninstalling or disabling both while using big picture, as for some reason, using both at the same time cause intense frame rate drops. Another thing I did that may or may not have helped was enabled GPU accelerated web views under view/settings/interface in the the top left bar of steam.

Hope this helps anyone else having issues.

Thank you, enabling GPU acceleration for web views did the trick for me ;)

any other fix? Big picture works fine in my desktop but laggy af in my laptop, without vanguard and with gpu acceleration :er_sad:

Could it be due to lower hardware specifications?

It could certainly be from low specs. I haven't had these troubles in a long time, but I do know that big picture is more demanding on your CPU and GPU than normal steam, due to the increase in animations and such. You could try using razor cortex to help you out, as that's what I used to do back in 2013 to help me out on my poopy laptop.

I usually saw an increase of FPS from 5-10 extra frames, which is nice. I usually tried to shoot for 30 FPS on applications, which was the standard at the time. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid your specs might just be to low, or you'll need to find another fix.
