How are certain buy orders over $2000?

I thought the wallet limit was $2000? Or does it take away your ability to sell but still allow you to load additional funds?

Probably they are in a different currency, and the exchange rate has changed since they were put up for sale

That sucks. There’s so many of them it makes it impossible for people using usd or other currencies to buy certain items. There’s always at least a few of these buy orders popping up before it goes back down to 2k.

no one needs to buy a virtual item for $2k.

Clearly people do, hence the cost. You can always sell them on third party sites for real money too so no loss really.

That's how you get scammed and risk your account security as none are truly safe.

I've been using them for ages, same for everyone else that's into skins in the csgo community. They handle millions of dollars worth of skins every year and also sponsor professional players and tournaments.

No offense but I don't really need advice, I know what I'm doing. Just a bit bummed Valve still has the limit to 2k on steam considering how many skins have gone far past that in value.

probably because of legal reasons. after a certain point it might be considered an income by federal regulations or smthin like that

Valve already requires you to provide certain tax info if you sell a certain amount of items or make a certain amount of money from the market in a single year iirc.

I remember I sold a ton of things a while back and I had to provide my SSN and other info to get rid of the restriction.

I think they may expand on that in the future though because they've already increased the limit a few times as the prices of items increased too. Don't remember when they raised it to 2k but it has to have been at least a few years ago.
