when the drive letter changed why cant I add the old library again?
why does the new folder have to be empty?
why am I forced to redownload all the games even though they are all on my drive already?

I even moved the steam library to another folder and tried to create a new library under d:/programs but it keeps blocking the action telling me the folder has to be empty but ofc I have other folders in that path which I dont want to delete.

I removed the SteamLibrary folder from the Program folder just the client does not care and demands an empty folder.

Wth is going on?

Why is the Steam client making us jump through such unnecessary hoops?
Doesnt Steam need the bandwith to make us download games we have on our drives already?

Just let steam create the new SteamLibrary folder on the default location on the disk.
It wants to be in the root of the disk, so just let it.

Then move the contents of the old steamlibrary into the new one. (Cut/Paste is much faster than Copy/Paste).

Restart your PC, and hopefully Steam sees all your games again.

I didnt. I moved the other folders out and then it worked, after that I moved the folders back in again.
