Missing execuable

I'm new to Steam and don't know how often this issue comes up on this forum. If it's talked about too much, I'm sorry. But I've tried everything recommended to me, and nothing's working.

I downloaded a game a few days ago, and it downloaded pretty quickly. But every time I try to launch it, it says an error has occurred when trying to update it, and it says "missing executable."

I've looked through the troubleshooting page. I've tried restarting my computer, clearing my download cache, repairing my library folder, verifying local files, changing my download region, moving it to a different drive, and uninstalling and reinstalling again. Nothing appears to work. What should I do?

Which game does it happens for? Just that one, or all your games?

Is your computer a Windows PC, or a Mac?

The game is Wanted Racoon. I've only downloaded one game before and that worked fine, so I'm guessing it's just that one.

And I have a Mac.

Wanted Racoon does not offer a Mac OS version of their game. Only Windows and Linux are supported:

Okay, that explains it. I have to remember to look for that next time. So I guess I just ask for a refund from customer support now?

Which is an option if you are within the requirements to be eligible for a refund.
That means:
Less than 14 days since purchase AND less than two hours of runtime.

guys i got the same problem, but instead of only one game it happens for every game i got on steam... what should i do?
i have a windows by the way...

and it doesn't let me verify the integrity of the files, as i click it nothing happens, not a download happening...
also i got the black screen issue on steam, i can only use it in big picture :(

Do the following please.
1. Open the Steam client
2. Click Help in the top menu bar, then System Information
3. Copy ALL text and post it here, unedited.
