Blizzard account region issues
My account location is set to the USA but im canadian. I must not have really thought about it when i made it years ago. I recently found this out when i went to purchase diablo 4. I noticed the price was in USD. I imagine my credit card will charge me a conversion rate anyways but i dont wanna purchase it just incase. If i buy diablo 4 in usd will i get in trouble? Or does it not matter cause of the conversion rate. I know some of you may be wondering why im asking this on steam and thats because im literally getting no responses on reddit/blizzard forums or even facebook groups.

If you feel like Blizzard is a "random company" and you don't trust them enough to go through their support or their processes, you probably shouldn't be doing business with them.
I don't distrust them specifically I just don't think providing that kind of information to a company who has no business having it is not a good thing. Their are multiple ways to verify who you are without the need for giving them specific information... companies can have security breaches. My point for the other companies is that it's not like it's a policy adopted by everyone. This is getting off topic anyways. You wanna give a company your Healthcare care or ID go ahead. I'm more interested if blizzard even cares that I put America. If they don't it's a none issue.
If it's anything like Steam then your account can be terminated for that false information and buying things that aren't licensed specifically to your region as they have to ensure that you receive the proper licensed version of the game for your specific region. For instance, in a region like Germany or Australia many things would be censored but still connect to the same servers.

Your idea of "security" makes no sense. Your ID is proof of who you are and every established business has a right to request your ID for verification, especially when dealing with 18+ products like Diablo IV.

It never was on topic as Blizzard does not use Steam in any way.
true, why is this in Steam's help and tips section instead of off-topic?

There's a bit more to the story (I didn't use my real name so they require those things) but this is getting off topic. I'm more interested in whether or not they even care.
They do care, just be honest with them and don't lie to them. Show them your ID and they can fix all the things on your account. I used a fake name and birthday when I was underage and got it fixed with my ID no problem.
I'm not going to show a company very personal information that wasn't even required when I set it up thanks. If your comfortable with that. That is your business. People are way to relaxed with just throwing their personal information online now a days. I remember when Sony got hacked a few years ago.

Your ID isn't "very personal information", it's what's used to identify you, it's literally why you have it.

if you lose control of the account, you will either have a very hard time recovering it, or be unable to recover it because you used a false name. they are not asking for this information for laughs.

The support article on Blizzard says "submit a legible image of a recent utility bill with your name and new address for manual review". And that's only if the self-service tool doesn't work. Where does it state that you have to provide a healthcare card?

It sounds like you're wanting help in trying to continue deceiving Blizzard. You want someone to confirm whether you can get away using a non-US payment method for your US made account created with a fictitious name while you are residing in Canada.

Why not grow up and be the Canadian you're supposed to be and pay for things in the clear instead of gaming the system?

There is a difference between having it, and sending an image of it in the internet so someone else has it.
The ID is very personal information, if it identifies you.

Also it is not needed to determine where you are. It determines who you are, wherever you are.

IF you lied about your identity then it's absolutely necessary to change your legal name/address/etc for the company to set your country properly to use the right currency/etc. they have to follow the laws as much as the OP broke the law by giving a false identity to a business as well as a false country which can lead to many licensing issues.

Again, the location is NOT set by your passport.
