CS:GO folder too high - 60GB
Hi all,

as mentionned, my cs go folder seems to be very heavy: 60GB. I do not have maps, sounds, etc, I already reinstalled the game recently.

I actually have the cs2 beta, but i think it doesn't really change something.

In my following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive, I can find 2 different folders: "Cs go" (which is the game): 29.1 GB, and "Game": around 30 GB.
I tried to delete the second one (game) but it redownloads it automatically when i verify game integrity, so I guess it's important.

Could someone please tell me HOW to minimize the cs go folder,? Or do everybody have a csgo folder of 60 Gb? Will it be better when cs2 will completly replace csgo?

Thanks a lot for any suggestions,

KInd regards,

Try deleting the demo folder

That other folder is most likely the beta. There's a reason why Steam re-download it and that reason isn't to drive SSD sales.

Yeah, that will get better when the beta's over & everybody gets the new game. Unless the old one gets kept around, I don't think that'll happen.

"game" folder is Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test folder. It's placed in main CS:GO folder.

got the same issue here but when I try to download the csgo legacy version it says 64gb, but the normal version (which is cs2) is like 30gb that's weird

It's not weird. CS2 has far less stuff in it, including the map pool.
