I logged into steam with my new computer but all my games are missing

So I got a new computer and decided to log into my steam account with it and now it says I don't own any games or have any friends, how do I fix this?

You have to move your Steam library to your new computer (harddrive) It will only recognize games on your main harddrive.

So the only way for steam to remember I ever owned any games is to move my hardrive?

No, your Steam account will always have your games. You'll just have to redownload them again if you don't backup your files, etc.

But, it sounds like you accidentally logged into the wrong account. If you want to download your games again, you'll have to use the Steam account that the games belong to. Search your email for a purchase receipt if you can't remember, it should have the account name.

This is the right account, I checked, I don't know where my games went though, like they're gone gone

That's impossible. Games don't disappear.

If they are not in your library, you are on the wrong account.

I've been using this account for years, I don't know what happened but steam doesn't have any of my game purchases saved anymore

Seems as though you are logged into a possible alt account here...

I would go to a game you previously owned and go to Steam Support and there is a selection "My game is not in the library" click that and see what it says.

that's the issue, I have no alts and the email I'm connected to has been the same one since I made it, I have all my reciepts from all the games I've purchased all linked to my account but when I log into it I don't have the games on here

Yeah, I looked up your account creation date and it is two years old. Pretty strange, try what I said above and if that doesn't work open up a Steam Support ticket. Maybe see if the Steam Client needs updating because that can also cause issues. I am sorry this happened to you...

So, tell me, are the games on another disk or on C drive, or is this new PC a laptop? trying to wrap my head around this one...

Its not the email.

This is the only account I have as it also references my irl name for anyone who's friends with me so I am 100% certain it is my account

I wonder if the Steam Client is wacky or some setting is doing something. I swear I seen a similar issue one time in the past, but if you go to Steam Support, find the game you say you own (preferably a game brought directly from Steam) and click "Game is not in my library", it should fix the issue, but if that does happen successfully, open a ticket to Steam Valve to get the rest of them. Seems like the Client glitching, run the Steam Client setup installation media.

I was thinking maybe "Family Sharing" was blocking something...

The good thing is that games are never permanently removed ever...
