Starfield Pre-Load Error

I attempted to pre-load the Premium Edition Starfield today, but I gett an error in my downloads section that says "App not released yet." Anyone else seeing this?

It also shows no data in the local files and the main page in my library states available September 6th, not September 1st? Anyone else with Premium seeing these discrepancies and issues?

Preload files are stored in Steam's cache folder until the unlock date when they unpack and install. So the Starfiled folder is empty.

The 6th of September is a Steam thing, it always displays the official release date not early access for games like these.

Check your purchase or key activation history (depending on where you bought the game) to make sure it's showing premium.

Starfield Early Access Release Date

Starfield's early access release date is September 1st across Xbox Series X|S and PC. The only way to get early access is through the Premium, Premium Upgrade and Constellation versions of the game.

If you're planning to play Starfield via Xbox Game Pass for the forseeable future, the Premium Upgrade version has been designed for that purpose. It's also the cheapest way to get access on September 1st.

Starfield's Xbox Game Pass release time is 5pm PT / 8pm ET on September 5th, 2023 and 1am BST / 2am CEST on September 6th. This is also the same time that the standard version will become available to play if you've bought it.

i bought the normal reorder version by mistake....can i upgrade to the premium preorder for early access?

Where did you buy it? If on Steam your only option is to refund and then buy the premium version once the refund has gone through (which can take hours to days).

If you bought it on a 3rd party key site you're probably out of luck.
