Steam Client Webhelper using too much memory
Steam client webhelper is using 5-15% memory pretty consistently. Closing it on task manager doesn't help as it just automatically opens back up and is using the same amount of ram. Any fixes? This issue is without a game even open, but I have turned overlay off as I heard that helped

This is not support, and you lack so many information on this user forum. you cant use % then we dont know amount of it.

4gb ram or 256GB ram either range is worst case senario

This may not be support, but this discussion topic is literally called "Help and Tips". Anyways, I'm running into the same issue following the most recent update. My RAM usage for Steam Client Webhelper is currently 1.856gb, which is excessive compared to its prior utilization prior to the udpate.

Try clear web cache user data inside steam settings, how come you did not google this first or use steam search then its been said in over 1000 post atleast.

But that dont mean it will not rebuild over time, but we other is still under 600mb but that depend on how much topic ypu keep track on at steam forum and web access.

ps.
And it still dont explan anything at all.

we cant help you thrn you did not understand % of something.

this is start of another mcfly post, steam dont like that.

and worst part, is 5% is soon normal then you are activ steam user on 16gb system, that not even being seen as a problem anymore, it only is that if game require all 16gb, im sorry you dont know this but that is the problem, this is not a problem if game only require 8gb.

IDK what you're talking about with "game requiring 16gb" this is no game. It is Steam itself, with no game open, using 5-15% ram. thats 1-2gb for it doing nothing. Again, if you cannot or will not offer a solution to this then there is no point in saying anything. You're just being confrontational

No you lack info about it, and i doubt it help and tell you to clear web cache, sense it will rebuild over time again, go talk with steam support then, there is nothing i can do about steam increased resource , and this is why you cant read post with old what it was once was in size even 3 years ago it wss smaller, you think we can fix that , no we cant. its getting bigger over time. feel free to enter steam and reduce steam resources usage you have could done that in many years.

gl with it or talk with steam support i doubt any can reduce what steam use now.

"I cant fix this problem" ok then why did you reply in the first place? You're failing to see my point. just blocking ya

The webhelper is around 350 MB here. There's a bunch of other smaller webhelpers too, making the total impact of Steam on your RAM about 500 to 600 MB.
I use a very old computer, but running Steam doesn't make it any slower.

agree 325 here, seen it to go high as 450 , whats the point to adr this anything under 500 is seen as low then you hear on other steam user had 800 and 1000 even, and it dont help as other steam user point out so do MS EDGE, this topic is flooded with angry steam user and pc user.

and what is normal, i have even reduce steam settings, so things is not that simple here.

some even blaim animations, but we dont hear other say that so its not that simple to reduce it.
