How do you enable 4k for Remote Play?
Both my desktop and laptop are on the Beta channel. My laptop is plugged into a 4K ultra wide monitor.

When I start streaming a game the max resolution is 1920 x 1080.

Is there something I have do to so games streamed to the laptop can display higher than 1080p?

I assume you are streaming from the desktop to the laptop. Is the desktop running the game in 4k? If it is streaming, it'll stream in the resolution that it runs the game.

Yup, the desktop is running the game in 1080p. I don't have a way to change that. I've tried a few games and I can't select a resolution higher. I think the setting is in Steam itself.

I'll ask in Beta.

Does your desktop PC have a 4k monitor connected?

No it does not. Does that matter?

Absolutely.
You can only stream the up to the resolution you're playing at. So, if you play at 1080p, you can stream up to 1080p.

If you'd play at 4k, you could stream at 4k.

That doesn't make any sense.

Remote play works without any sort of video cable. It just needs an internet connection. Right now my desktop just has a power and Ethernet cables plugged in and I can remote play to my desktop at 1080p.

The laptop is launching the connect at 1080p. I can use Remote Deskop Protocol to my desktop at 4K with no problem.
