Are you sure its a steam message? When you see it, check taskmanager or better process explorer if there is anything running that shouldnt. While that message is shown.

Check that the email and phone number on the steam account are still yours.

And at least at my case I'm aware it was a legitimate message from steam cause both times I got kicked out from the game I was playing.
This is very strange it also got me extremely worried since it's the second time it happens now I'm even more concerned...
p.s. My system has no infestations, I keep antivirus on 100% of the time, do not access sketchy sites, run adwcleaner afterwards and even manually searched for processes using Process Monitor
yes exactly, even yesterday this happened to me again out of nowhere.
it loads a window "refresh sign-in" but nothing happens and when i close it, the entire steam app closes and I have to restart steam again. THis is ultra annonying
was playing CSGO and then a window popped up whit the message login elsewere.
It may be related to internet instability. Today I had a quick disconnect while gaming and when it came back online I had some trouble reconnecting. Then I got this weird message and had to manually close/open Steam again. However, I'm unable to say if this is the only factor that could trigger it or if it may also be related to any other bug/vulnerability the current version of Steam has...
Maybe, but no clue tbh. My internet is fairly solid and had no other issues connecting through any other application, even steam was still online and was just being weird. The only devices I had logged into my account at my PC and my phone, and that matched with that I had on my authorised devices list. Probably just a blip in the system though as, like I said, it's not happened since
I use Nordvpn but it's never open when I'm on Steam and my connection it's fine.
