Oops, I used the wrong location for Steam and now have problems
I used to have a small SSD where I would play Steam Games; however, when I returned a few years later, steam needed to be reinstalled; I'm not sure why. When it asked me for a location, I now have a larger SSD and I pointed to that drive. Unfortunately, some of my games I installed on the prior SSD are having problems. Do I need to transfer the old files to the new drive or is there some other way to recover? I am OK with acting like the files are not recoverable on the old SSD if that can save time. I now have a faster Internet connection, and speed is not an issue. Any ideas of routes or a route to recovery, ignoring the other SSD files where steam resided or not. :-) Thanks to anyone who can help! :-) - Chip

If games are on another drive, they are in "steam library" folders.
As you had steam on the same drive before, somehow you kept them there but installed steam on another drive?

Then you need to set a location on the old drive. And then move the games and their appmanifest file into that. Install another game in that folder to see where each must be.

Steam, settings, storage. Click the tiny + at top to make such a folder on another drive than where steam is installed
