How did you add the money to your account? Did you use a Steam Prepaid card or a external method like PayPal,bank transfer or so on?
Or did someone else send you a Steam Digital Gift card with the 5 dollars?

Click the link hotsuace provided. Check your transaction, what does the status say on it?
- Complete

- Pending <--- Still processing payment.

- Failed <--- Means your money on loop back to you, it depend whenever the bank statement updates showing money never left by deleting transaction, or shows new transaction that it has returned.

Also, you're not canadian, right? Or another country where the currency is called "dollar", but is worth less than USD?

Likewise, in Europe, it's actually €5 -- so if you just sent $5, that won't cut it... I think.

Isn't it the "equivalent of 5$ US"?

Adding 4.51€ should theoretically be enough.

ATM need at least $6.60+ CAD to be "equivalent of $5 USD" to making account unlimited, safe bet is just drop $10 on account, and there no oversight of anything, and can still use that money for anything on Steam anyways since goal is to buy something on Steam to begin with anyways.

But I don't think OP talking about this issue, but the missing $5 added from what I'm reading from OP.

I'm not entirely sure. I know that the minimum amount when charging the wallet is $5 in the US, and €5 in Europe... but yeah, it's possible that they don't make that distinction for the account-unlimiting.

Funny enough, as games are usually priced with $1=€1, your idea would unlimit the account when you buy a 4.99 game in Europe, but not when you buy the same game in the US :-)

They actually do but it only really applies when you directly buy a game as charging your wallet is in fact a minimum of 5€, which would be above the minimum of 5USD.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
