Controller is detected, but no inputs are registered
Steam detects the controller, but when I test it (both in game and in the controller settings test), no inputs are registered. The controller in question is a EasySMX 9101 in the style of an xbox controller. I have used a variety of gamepad testers online, and they successfully show the correct inputs. Here are some things I have tried:

1. Restarting the computer
2. Updating the driver for the controller
3. Using different usb ports
4. Trying different games
5. Changing the general controller settings to enable steam input. Then enabling it within the game specific properties.
6. Doing the opposite of above and not allowing steam input.
7. Entering and exiting big picture
8. Running steam as an admin
9. Ensuring the device is working in "Game Controllers" on Windows 10
10. Disabling the device in device manager, restarting, and enabling it.
11. Enabled steam overlay
12. Checked the steam client for updates
13. Prayed to various gods

I would love some help with this issue, as it is very frustrating that I can't find the cause

In Steams controller test, what VID PID does it display in top left?

Also could check if any difference in the Steam beta client
(change the Client Beta Participation setting at Steam > Settings > Interface)
Goode the same Day service and the second half a dozen or more characters were identified exchanging

2f24, 0x0091 which matches the one found in device manager using the hardware id

Regarding the beta, I have ensured that I am not participating

OK, so it's their own ID. Is the controller in Xinput mode (manual says LED 1 & 2 will stay lit)?

Not sure if you covered this already but in Steam's controller test, if you select 'Setup Device Inputs' are inputs being read for that process? There's also 'Reset Device Inputs' which should auto-fill the mapping for the controller in its Xinput mode.
