Disable Steam Cloud
I've been having trouble disabling Steam cloud. I disable cloud in the Steam settings (globally) while in online mode and it stays disabled. When I exit and shutdown Steam, cloud gets turned back on automatically the next time I run Steam and so I have to disable it again. This issue doesn't seem to occur if I start Steam in offline mode without an internet connection. I've tried disabling Cloud Sync for each individual game while keeping the Global Cloud on, but that trick doesn't seem to work because each game's Cloud setting is turned back on when I restart Steam.

Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a fix?
My only solution that seems to work at the moment is turning off Global Cloud while in Steam, then setting the following files to Read-Only; "serverbrowser_hist.vdf, sharedconfig.vdf, sharedconfig.vdf.stmp". I found these files in my "remote" folder which was in Steam/userdata/"profile id"/7.

I am having a similar problem. I have disabled cloud sync through the properties menu on a game, and whenever I play the game, then exit, it reports a cloud sync problem. When I check the properties again the sync option was automatically re-enabled.

Unfortunately, my fix doesn't seem to work anymore. Forcing Steam to start in offline mode and then switching to Online does seem to keep Cloud disabled. I hope they fix this issue soon.

I worked through support with my issue. It's broken in the beta as well. Hopefully it gets fixed in a patch.

Bu geçici bir çözüm, gelecekte beklenmedik ve uyum sorunu yaşabilirsin.

Definitely still an issue, have a friend struggling with this now... This needs to be looked at and fixed. Forcing people to use cloud even when they have selected to turn it off can be really aggravating. There are still people in the rural US (let alone many other places around the world) that can't just "upgrade" their internet whenever they feel like it, even if they could afford to, just because where they happen to live has only one internet option and it's not a good one. So forcing them to update their cloud saves constantly on that crappy internet can be a lot heavier than those of us who have decent (or, especially, those of us with "great") internet might realize. This may seem like such a "small" issue to many users and/or Steam employees, but it can be really damning to people with limited internet possibilities.

yeah, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam cloud is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I never want to use it, why the ♥♥♥♥ can't it be turned off for good?

(I'm aware of the settings to turn it off, but it re-enables itself all the time, what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disgrace)
