Steam Client WebHelper Spam in Task Manager
Was playing a game in the background and went to normal steam clicked a linked and instead of Opening up a Webpage in my Browser nothing happened, so clicked it again and again after 10 Times and when nothing happened i went back to my Game

and saw that the Steam Webbrowser opened itself with no way of Closing it and opened itself over 40 Times (See it in Task Manager) and everytime i start the game now it just Eats all the Ram (more then 5 GB of Ram from my 16GB) Is there a way to close them since i can't do it in the Game?

Trying to end the tasks over the Task Manager doesn't help or close steam entirely.

(Shift+Tab) to open your steam overlay, while in game you should be able to close out of the steam clint webhelper spam.

There's always been 9 of these webhelper processes running. That's not new. The memory and CPU usage they're using is new. Suggestions have been made that if we go in to settings and change the performance settings to the lowest settings or off it helps with that. No one has responded to those suggestions with any results so if you try that please follow up.

We can use the previous UI by appending the -vgui switch to a Steam Client shortcut and using that shortcut to launch Steam. If you'd like to use the older UI here are detailed instructions on how to do that and disable automatic updates.

I like the new Steam Overlay so don't need the change to the Older one.

As far as i can see i cannot find the Performance Options in the Steamoptions.

If i open the Steam Overlay i only have 6-9 Webhelpers (that's normal) but when i open the Webbrowser (In Warhammer Vermintide 2) it now explodes the Number up to 50-54 Webhelpers...

Don't use Steam's Web Browser. alt+tab and use your default browser.

Report this issue to official steam support.
